Vegetables are an important part of the diet. Veggies have lots of vitamins and minerals that are essential to the body. Using a microwave to quickly zap your vegetables is a good idea so you can keep a lot of the vitamins and minerals within the vegetable. When cooking in water you will lose about 40% to 50% of vegetables vitamins and minerals. Eating vegetables may be easier than you think because a piece of pizza has about 1/4 cup of vegetables. I am not saying that you should eat a lot of pizza, but there are many different ways that you can prepare your vegetables for all meals of the day. Try and vary your veggies from green, orange, starchy and mixed.
